My brainy baby!

Maria is 6 months old now (and 16 pounds, did I mention that yet?!) and she's quite the genius. Here she is, inspecting this book ...
Hmmm, this looks like a great book!
This is what smart babies do with their books ...
Excellent reading, Mama! You should try this with your studies!
Speaking of studies ... I am currently enrolled at M-TEC for Medical Transcription. I don't think I have shared too much of what's been going on with my studies, have I? I enrolled in late April and did a few things at first, but with Maria being so small and with our new Sonlight materials, and then bronchitis, pleurisy, recovering from all of that, I didn't get too far at that time.

Then in mid-July I realized that I had to take charge and make sure I got that important study time in. Since then I have been doing very well, if I may say so myself! I found a great study partner (Hi, Bekah!) and we have a lot in common; such as having four children, homeschooling, living in Wisconsin (although across the state, bummer!), our faith, we're nearly in the same spot in our studies ... it's been great to email her and get encouraged or motivated to crack open the books. She started in July so she's way ahead of me ... but her youngest is 2 and my youngest is 6 months. Enough said! LOL!

So, the studies are going well and I am really enjoying what I am learning. M-TEC's job-placement rate is excellent and I know that if I do well on this course, I'll be employed from home within a very short time, and that will help us further our dreams and goals for our family. More on that later! I have shared some of what a Medical Transcriptionist does with Allen and the more I share, the more he says I am totally suited for this job. He's been very encouraging, almost TOO encouraging, LOL!

I would love to type more about my studies because I truly am excited about them - but the more time I spend blogging, the less time I will actually study! Oh yes, that brings me to the picture ...

This is how I spend some of my study time! Here we are, reading about infectious diseases in my Human Diseases textbook. I told you that Maria was a genius-baby! She was trying to get the book into her mouth ... if only I could eat this for lunch and have all the knowledge that was inside!

I followed your link from the SL forums. I have been doing medical transcription for about 11 years, and we homeschool also, though I don't live in Wisconsin. : ) I work 20 hours a week, and my schedule is fractured to make time for HS.

I am RobinHood on the SL forums - Julie otherwise.
